Cooperation in the field of teaching
The HCIAS master’s program ‘Communication and Society in Ibero-America’ provides its students with a highly interdisciplinary and international study environment. HCIAS students benefit from the possibility to attend classes offered by cooperating institutes within Heidelberg University. This allows them to gain insights into complementary topics and different disciplinary approaches. The HCIAS also regularly welcomes international academic visitors, who offer our students opportunities to further exchange ideas in classes, workshops, and lectures. HCIAS students therefore enjoy many possibilities for networking with peers from a wide variety of study programs, as well as distinguished researchers from all over the world.

The course will first present the definitions and methods for measuring poverty and inequality, and then provide a quantification of the data and the main explanatory factors for the persistence of these phenomena and their socio-economic implications.
