Postdoctoral Researcher, Project Leader, BMBF Project
Dr. Marco Antonio Teixeira is a postdoctoral researcher and a project leader of the junior research group Food for Justice: Power, Politics and Food Inequalities in a Bioeconomy (2019-2025), funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), a master’s degree in Social Sciences from the Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and a bachelor’s degree in Social Science from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), as well as in History from the Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
Research
His research interests are social theory, political sociology, historical sociology, rural sociology, social movements studies, labor studies, food studies, gender studies, memory studies, social inequalities, human rights, climate change, Latin American studies, Brazilian studies, and qualitative methodologies.
